Why I chose franchising 

Franchising was my preferred choice as you have the backing and support of a franchisor and other franchisees. You also have a brand name so the customer has the peace of mind that the service they get has been tried and tested. 

What I did before taking up a franchise 

Before taking up a franchise I was a Retail Manager for twenty years. 

How I raised the finance 

I raised the finance with a bank loan and savings. 

The training and support I receive from my franchisor 

I received two weeks hands on training from my franchisor and other franchisees, which was invaluable.

The support I get is ongoing, there is someone to talk to no matter how trivial the problem may be, or just for advice. 

The challenges I have faced 

My main challenge was giving up a secure job with a regular income.

However the benefits outweigh the concerns. 

My advice to someone thinking of buying their first franchise 

My advice would be to list your strengths and weaknesses. Find a franchise you feel is suitable for you and research it for your area.

Get the buy in of friends and family. 

My plans for the future 

My plans are to raise awareness in my area and build up a regular customer base by giving the best possible service available.
